詞源[编辑]

源自中古英語 alayen, aleyen, aleggen ← 古英語 āleċġan ← 原始日耳曼語 *uzlagjaną (躺下),等同於a- +‎ lay。與德語 erlegen, 哥特語 𐌿𐍃𐌻𐌰𐌲𐌾𐌰𐌽 (uslagjan, 躺下)同源。中古英語中形似allegealloy,因而出現了意思的交叉。
