"do to others what you would like to be done to you"

或

"do not do to others what you would not like to be done to you"

受英國哲學家约翰·洛克(John Locke)的影響。第一次英文的"Do unto other"是在英國天主教西元一五六七年「公教要理」("Catechism")中出現。主要來自於新約聖經《路加福音》("Book of Luke")中耶穌("Jesus of Nazareth")說到:

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
